Hey there, and welcome! We are so glad you’ve found your way to our corner of the internet. Whether you just recently decided to follow Jesus or you’ve been walking this path for a little while and are looking to deepen your roots, we want you to know that you are welcome here at 1Love Christian Church.
Living in the beautiful Treasure Valley, life can feel pretty fast-paced. Between the commute through Boise, the demands of work, and the constant pings from our phones, finding a moment of genuine peace can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. But here’s the good news: peace isn't something you have to manufacture on your own. It’s a gift that’s already waiting for you in the presence of God.
As a Bible teaching church in Boise, we believe that the best way to navigate the ups and downs of life is by anchoring ourselves in the truth of God’s Word every single morning. Starting your day with God isn't about checking a religious box or following a rigid set of rules; it’s about building a relationship with the One who created you and loves you more than you can imagine.
If you’re a new believer, you might be wondering, "How do I even start? What do I say? What do I read?" Don't worry: we’ve got you covered. Here is an easy, five-step guide to help you start your day with God and find that lasting peace your heart is looking for.
Step 1: The First Five Minutes: Connect with Your Creator
The moment your eyes open and the alarm goes off, your mind usually starts racing. You think about that meeting at 9:00 AM, the laundry that needs to be folded, or the stressful conversation you had yesterday. Before you even roll out of bed or reach for your phone to check the news, try giving God your "firsts."
Spend the first five minutes of your day just acknowledging His presence. You don’t need fancy words or a theological degree. Just a simple, "Good morning, Lord. Thank You for this day. I want to walk with You today," is a perfect start. This simple act of surrender shifts your focus from your problems to His power.
Finding Treasure Valley Christian worship starts in the quiet of your own home. By dedicating those first few minutes to Him, you’re setting a "peace filter" for everything else that comes your way. It reminds you that you aren't carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders: He is.
Step 2: Immerse Yourself in the Word

After you’ve had that initial connection, it’s time to listen to what God has to say to you. As a new believer, the Bible can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. Where do you even begin?
We always recommend starting with the Gospel of John or the Book of Psalms. John helps you get to know the heart of Jesus: His love, His miracles, and His mission. The Psalms are incredible because they show us how to be honest with God; they are filled with every human emotion imaginable, from pure joy to deep sorrow, always leading back to trust in God’s goodness.
Try reading just one chapter or even just a few verses. Don’t rush through it. Ask yourself:
- What does this tell me about God’s character?
- Is there a promise here I can hold onto today?
- How can I apply this truth to my life in Boise today?
At 1Love Christian Church, our Boise sermons often dive deep into these practical applications. We aren't just interested in head knowledge; we want to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. If you ever feel stuck in your reading, joining our 9:30 AM Bible Study on Sunday mornings is a fantastic way to learn alongside others in our tight-knit community.
Step 3: Have an Honest Conversation (Prayer)
Prayer is simply talking to God like He’s your best friend: because He is. Now that you’ve read a bit of His Word, talk to Him about it. If you read a verse about God being your Shepherd, thank Him for guiding you. If you read about forgiveness, ask Him to help you forgive that person who hurt you.
Be honest. If you’re feeling anxious, tell Him. If you’re excited about something, share it with Him. He already knows what’s on your heart, but there is something incredibly healing about saying it out loud (or writing it in a journal). This is where the peace starts to really take root. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us that when we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, His peace: which surpasses all understanding: will guard our hearts and minds.
Step 4: Find the "Selah": The Power of Stillness

In the Bible, the word Selah often appears at the end of a verse, and it essentially means "to pause and calmly think about that." In our busy lives, we often skip the pause.
After you’ve read and prayed, take 2–3 minutes to just sit in silence. This can be the hardest part for some of us! But in the stillness, we give the Holy Spirit room to speak to our hearts. You might find a sense of comfort, a sudden bit of clarity regarding a decision, or just a deep feeling of being loved.
This internal stillness is what we strive for in our Sunday gatherings. Our 10:30 AM Worship and 11:00 AM Sermon are designed to be an intimate experience where you can truly encounter God without the distractions of a massive crowd. We are a small, tight-knit family of 50–70 people, and we value that "small church" feel where everyone is known and loved.
Step 5: Plan Your Day with God (Surrender Your Schedule)
The final step is to look at your calendar for the day and invite God into every appointment, every chore, and every interaction.
- "Lord, give me wisdom in this meeting at noon."
- "Father, help me be patient with my kids this afternoon."
- "Jesus, show me someone today who needs a word of encouragement."
When you surrender your schedule, you stop viewing your day as a series of tasks to be conquered and start seeing it as a series of opportunities to walk with God. This transition from "my will" to "His will" is the secret to lasting peace. You’ll find that even when things go "wrong" (like getting stuck in traffic on I-84), you can remain calm because you know God is still in control.
Join Our Community and Grow Together
Starting your day with God is a personal habit, but it’s much easier to maintain when you have a community cheering you on. At 1Love Christian Church, we are all about "doing life together."

For the guys out there, we have our Man Up Men’s Ministry. It’s a casual, authentic space where men can be real about their struggles and grow in their faith. Whether it’s over a cup of coffee at a local Boise shop or a Saturday morning breakfast, it’s about building strong, Godly friendships.
And of course, we’d love to see you this Sunday! Here is our schedule:
- 9:30 AM: In-depth Bible Study (Great for questions and deep dives)
- 10:30 AM: Warm Worship (A time to sing and focus our hearts)
- 11:00 AM: Sunday Sermon (Practical teaching for real life)
We meet at our local Boise location, and we promise you’ll find a warm welcome and a cup of coffee waiting for you.
Finding peace in a chaotic world isn't a one-time event: it’s a daily choice. By taking these five steps, you’re building a foundation that won't be shaken by the storms of life. We are so excited for you as you begin this journey. Remember, you aren't doing this alone. We are right here with you!
