Mornings in the Treasure Valley have a special kind of magic. Whether you’re watching the sun crest over the Boise Foothills or grabbing a quick coffee before heading into the office downtown, there’s a sense of a fresh start every single day. But let’s be real: sometimes that "fresh start" feels more like a frantic race against the alarm clock.
At 1Love Christian Church, we believe your morning shouldn't just be about surviving the commute or checking off your to-do list. It’s about grounding yourself in something deeper. As a small, tight-knit Bible teaching church in Boise, we see how much of an impact a solid spiritual foundation can have on your mental health, your relationships, and your overall outlook on life.
If you’ve been looking for ways to inject a little more peace and purpose into your A.M. hours, we’ve got you covered. Here are five simple, Bible-based tips to help you boost your morning routine instantly.
1. Start with an "In-Depth" Mindset
When we talk about Treasure Valley Christian worship, we’re not just talking about what happens on Sunday morning. Worship is a lifestyle, and it begins the moment you open your eyes. One of the best ways to set the tone for the day is to move past surface-level reading and dive deep into God’s Word.
Many of us are guilty of the "verse of the day" approach: we glance at a notification, think "that’s nice," and then go right back to scrolling social media. But there is so much power in slow, intentional study.
At 1Love Christian Church, we are big believers in the power of deep study. In fact, we host an In-Depth Bible Study every Sunday at 9:30 AM led by Dale Cornett. Dale brings decades of wisdom to the table, helping us unpack the historical and spiritual context of the Bible. You can bring that same spirit into your home!
How to do it: Pick a single book of the Bible and read just a few verses each morning. Ask yourself: What does this reveal about God’s character? How does this change how I see my neighbors here in Boise?

2. Embrace the "Man Up" Discipline
Discipline is a word that gets a bad rap, but in the Christian walk, discipline is just another word for love. It’s about loving God enough to prioritize Him over an extra ten minutes of sleep.
For the guys in our congregation, we often talk about this during our Man Up Men’s Ministry. We meet on Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM to encourage each other to "Man Up" in our faith, our families, and our work. That same sense of masculine strength and spiritual discipline can be the engine for your daily routine.
Even if you aren't a morning person, you can build a habit of discipline by starting small. Maybe it’s five minutes of prayer or writing down one thing you’re grateful for. Consistency is the key. When you show up for God, He meets you there. If you're looking for a group of guys to help hold you accountable, check out our Man Up Ministry.

3. Pray Specifically for the Treasure Valley
It’s easy to get caught up in our own "to-do" lists, but your morning routine is a great time to expand your perspective. We are called to be the salt and light in our community. That means our prayers should extend beyond our own front doors.
As you drink your morning tea or coffee, take a moment to pray for Boise. Pray for our local leaders, for the schools in your neighborhood, and for the families you see at the park. When we pray for our city, we start to see people through God’s eyes.
This practice turns your routine from a self-improvement habit into a ministry. You’ll find that when you focus on serving others through prayer, your own anxieties start to feel a lot smaller. We are a Bible teaching church in Boise that truly cares about our local streets and the people walking them.
4. Reflect on the "Practical Faith" of Sunday's Sermon
If you’ve ever sat through one of our Boise sermons, you know that Pastor Daro is all about "Practical Faith for Real Life." We don’t just want to talk about high-level theology that stays in the clouds; we want to know how the Bible changes how we act on a Tuesday afternoon.
A great tip for your morning routine is to revisit the notes or the main point from the previous Sunday’s sermon.
- What was the "big idea"?
- What is one way you can apply that truth today?
If you missed the service or want to refresh your memory, we host a Facebook Live Q&A every Monday night at 8:30 PM to discuss the sermon and answer your questions. It’s a great way to keep the conversation going throughout the week. You can also catch up on past messages on our Sermons page.

5. Set Your Weekly Rhythm Around Fellowship
Finally, remember that you weren't meant to do life alone. A healthy morning routine actually starts with a healthy weekly rhythm. When you know you have a community backing you up, it’s much easier to face the day with confidence.
At 1Love Christian Church, we keep things intimate and family-oriented. We’re a group of about 50 to 70 people who truly know each other's names. Knowing that you’re going to see your church family on Sunday, or perhaps at a Friday Fellowship Dinner, gives you something to look forward to.
Our Sunday Schedule:
- 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: In-Depth Bible Study (The best way to kick off your spiritual growth!)
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Fellowship (Coffee, snacks, and good conversation)
- 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Praise & Worship (A mix of hymns and contemporary songs)
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: The Sermon (Biblical, practical teaching)
When you make these gatherings a non-negotiable part of your week, your daily morning routine becomes a bridge from one fellowship moment to the next.
