Good morning, family! It is Saturday, July 18, 2026, and as the sun begins to climb over the Boise foothills, there’s a specific kind of peace that settles into the weekend. Saturday is often seen as a "bridge" day: a day to catch our breath from the frantic pace of the work week and a day to begin turning our hearts toward the Lord as we prepare for our gathering tomorrow.
If you’re reading this early, remember that our Man Up Men’s Ministry is meeting this morning from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. There is nothing quite like starting a Saturday with a group of brothers who are committed to growing in Christ and supporting one another. It’s those moments of connection: simple, honest, and grounded: that define who we are as a church family.
As we sit in this quiet space today, I’ve been thinking about the "life cycle" of a message. At 1Love Christian Church, we aren't just here to fill seats for an hour. We are a Bible teaching church in Boise that believes the words spoken on Sunday aren't meant to stay within the four walls of our sanctuary. They are meant to breathe, move, and shape the way we live from Monday through Saturday.
The Saturday Pivot: Moving from "Doing" to "Being"
For most of us in the Treasure Valley, the week is a whirlwind. We’re working, commuting, taking kids to practice, and navigating the complexities of modern life. By the time Saturday morning rolls around, we can be spiritually exhausted. We’ve been in "doing" mode for six days.
The Saturday morning reflection is our opportunity to pivot. It’s a chance to look back at last Sunday’s sermon and ask ourselves: How did that message actually change my Tuesday? Did I remember the grace we talked about when I was stuck in traffic on I-84? Did I practice the patience we studied when things got tense at home?
In a small, tight-knit community of 50 to 70 people like ours, this reflection feels different. We aren't anonymous faces in a crowd of thousands. When we talk about "loving our neighbor" during our Treasure Valley Christian worship, we know exactly who those neighbors are. We see them in our rows, we see them at our Friday Fellowship dinners, and we see them throughout the city.
The Lasting Echo of Boise Sermons
There is a unique power in Boise sermons that are tailored to our specific context. When we dive into the Word together, we are looking at how ancient truths apply to our lives right here in Idaho. Whether we are discussing the stewardship of our land, the strength required to lead a family in today's culture, or the radical simplicity of Jesus’ command to "love one another," the goal is always transformation.
A sermon should be like a slow-release medicine. It shouldn't just give you a "spiritual high" on Sunday morning and leave you crashing by Monday afternoon. Instead, the teaching at 1Love Christian Church aims to plant seeds that grow throughout the week.

One of the greatest blessings of being a small church is the accountability that comes naturally with it. When we hear a message about forgiveness, and then we see the person we need to forgive at the coffee station, we can’t hide. We are forced to grow.
This intimacy is what makes 1Love Christian Church feel like home. We are small enough to know your story, your struggles, and your triumphs. Because we are a community of about 60 people, your presence matters. Your growth matters. When you are absent, you are missed. When you are struggling to apply the Sunday message to your life, there is always a brother or sister nearby to walk with you.
That’s why our Bible Study and Discipleship programs are so vital. They bridge the gap between the pulpit and the pavement. They allow us to take the big concepts from the sermon and break them down into actionable steps for our daily lives.
Preparing Your Heart for Tomorrow
As we look toward tomorrow, Sunday, July 19, I want to encourage you to spend a few minutes today clearing the "clutter" from your heart. Sometimes we arrive at church so distracted by the stresses of the week that we aren't ready to receive what God has for us.
Use today to rest. Use today to connect with your family. And if you’re a man in our congregation, use this morning to connect with other men who are striving for the same goals.
