One of the most beautiful and essential parts of your new journey is prayer. At 1Love Christian Church, we believe that prayer isn’t a religious chore or a formal speech you have to memorize. It’s simply a conversation with a Father who loves you deeply.
If you are looking for a new believers church in Boise, you’ve probably noticed that we do things a bit differently. We’re a small, tight-knit community of about 50 to 70 people, and we value authenticity over performance. This guide is designed to help you navigate those first steps of building a daily prayer rhythm that feels natural, sustainable, and life-changing.

Sometimes the hardest part of praying is knowing where to start. If you close your eyes and your mind immediately goes blank, don’t worry: that happens to the best of us! A classic and helpful tool many of us use is the ACTS method. It provides a simple roadmap for your conversation with God.
A – Adoration
Start by telling God how great He is. This isn't for His benefit (He already knows He’s great!), but for yours. It shifts your focus from your problems to His power. You might say, "Father, I praise You for being my Creator and for Your never-ending mercy."
C – Confession
We all mess up. Confession is just being honest with God about where we’ve fallen short. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we don’t have to hide in shame. We can bring our sins to Him, ask for forgiveness, and receive the strength to do better tomorrow.
T – Thanksgiving
Take a moment to list the things you’re grateful for. This could be big things, like your family, or small things, like a great cup of coffee or a beautiful Boise sunrise. Gratitude is a powerful way to guard your heart against bitterness and anxiety.
S – Supplication
This is a fancy word for "asking." This is the part where you bring your needs: and the needs of others: to God. Ask for wisdom at work, healing for a friend, or peace in your home. No request is too small for Him.

If you’re a man looking to deepen your faith, our Man Up Men’s Ministry meets every Saturday morning from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. It’s a great place to find brothers who will pray for you and walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges.
For everyone else, our Friday Fellowship is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal and pray in an informal, home-based setting. These gatherings happen at 6:30 PM at various homes: just message us to find out where we’ll be this week!

Next Steps: Baptism and Discipleship
